The Sailing Clubs Committee has worked to define the new calendar of regattas in the waters of Livorno.

There are many new features in the next edition of the SVI, including the return to the waters of Livorno of foreign sailors. After a long period of restrictions due to the pandemic, in fact, the crews of the Naval Academies from at least four continents will participate in the Naval Academies Regatta: a spectacular match race which will be contested over 4 days of regattas on one-design Trident 16 .

Boats classified IRC and ORC, Optimist, Laser, Windsurf Slalom Fire Race, J24, Hansa 303, 2.4 mr, and Classic sails: these are the regatta classes which will compete for the various Sailing Week trophies. Also this year there will be the Naval Academy Regatta, one of the longest in the Mediterranean, more than 600 miles to cover with departure and arrival in the city of Livorno, bypassing the Porto Cervo buoy and that of Capri; the regatta that bears the name of the Academy is organized by the Livorno Yacht Club with the collaboration of the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club and the contribution of the Yacht Club Repubblica Marinara of Pisa, Reale Yacht Club Savoia and Yacht Club Capri. The awards are scheduled in the respective clubs at the end of the regattas.

The SVI, which is not just about sailing, will see the city of Livorno come alive with the presence of numerous cultural and social events: the artistic competition "Il mare, le vele", organized in collaboration with the newspaper "Il Tirreno” ; the Piombino-Livorno car race, with more than 100 historic cars; the possibility of visiting the Livorno lighthouse, the city museums and a Navy sailboat; a bike tour that will allow you to follow the regattas along the coast.
